Steve Newton
Steve leads the Woodruff Grace Group and serves as an Elder. He also assists with various technical needs including computer and network issues as well as website and sound setup. He occasionally teaches adult classes at the church.
Steve has worked at ScanSource, a locally headquartered global distribution company, for over 14 years. His most recent role is as an ABAP developer implementing a global SAP system.
Steve has a B.S. in Computer Science from Taylor University with an emphasis in artificial intelligence and computer systems. The focus on godly servant leadership at Taylor, whether expressed in a technical workplace or in serving in a local church body, provided a strong foundation for seeking to live for the glory of God.
Steve grew up as a missionary kid in Bolivia and has always enjoyed the outdoors and building things. He and his wife Libby have been blessed with five sons, one daughter, and several acres in rural South Carolina. Volleyball has been a long-time passion and despite aging knees, Steve and several coworkers set up a net and play often over lunch, which has been a lot of fun and has developed and deepened friendships at work.
