Vic and Emily moved back from Hilton Head in 2018 with their two boys. Missing the friends they left behind in the Lowcountry, they quickly set out to find a local church where they could connect, grow, and establish roots for their family. A year after the move, as they were expecting the arrival of a third child, their world came to a tragic halt. In August of 2019, their daughter, Lily, was stillborn.
In a season that could easily have been isolating and consumed with grief, Vic and Emily recall how God, in his kindness, provided them with tangible relief.
βThe relationships that we built at Grace just months prior were now covering us in prayer, providing meals for our family, filling the gaps in our pantry and refrigerator, embracing the awkward moments to just listen, and giving biblical encouragement for the new road ahead of us.β
The ways that God used one local church to supply peace and healing in the months that followed were remarkable. And God eventually blessed them with a healthy pregnancy and a fourth child, a sweet little girl named Ella.
Vic and Emily were so glad they found a good church before the crisis hit. "Weep with those who weep." That's what the local church is called to do.
